The course will focus on the adaptive reuse of a historical building located in the centre of Florence.
Prior to the design assignment, students will be asked to research, analyse and read in detail the structure of various historical buildings, trying to trace the history of the alterations and modifications which have taken place on the architectural fabric during the course of the centuries and taking informed and justifiable design decisions.
Emphasis is placed on a professional ability of design solutions and professional performance in the context of sustainable practices and procedures.
