Graduate Design Studio I

Architecture

Graduate Design Studio I involves continuous critical dialogue/debate and constructive research of readings and findings in conjunction with student initiated design investigations. The studio will aim at the construction of a grammar of the urban plan, able to create simple and complex conditions in the relationship territory/city/architecture, and of an architecture that can elaborate on the theme of the ‘context’.

The course aims at providing the tools to redesign a portion of the city through the design of its public spaces, developed at different scales of intervention – from the human scale to the vast territory – and deepening the different social, economic and cultural components and dynamics that contribute to create a public space.
